Babar Azam Trolled After Facing Penalty For Overspeeding, Fans Wonder, 'Caught Out Here As Well?'
Babar Azam reportedly faced penalty for overspeeding by Punjab Motorway police in Karachi and fans can't keep calm.

Once again, Babar Azam has found himself in the crosshairs of online trolls, and this time, it’s all because of a viral photo featuring him alongside Karachi’s traffic police. On September 25, the Pakistan cricket captain was reportedly penalised for exceeding the speed limit on the Punjab Motorway. Local media reports suggest that he was issued a fine for driving over the speed limit on the highway. In the photograph, he can be seen cooperating with the police officer as he receives his traffic violation notice, with his Audi visible in the background. The exact amount of the fine remains undisclosed.
Babar, known for his knack of attracting attention online, couldn’t escape the clutches of the meme-makers. The trolling brigade wasted no time, poking fun at him for his off-road speed adventures and suggesting that perhaps he should focus on speeding on the cricket field, not the highway.

And just like that cricket fans, not to be outdone, joined in on the fun.
One witty user quipped, “Shocking that he didn’t know how to drive on highways even after doing it for majority of his career." Another chimed in with humour, saying, “Aap hi sikha do ab driving, World Cup khelna hai…" A third observer kept it simple, saying, “Caught out as usual."
On the flip side, some individuals speculated that the photo may have been edited.
Meanwhile, it’s worth noting that this isn’t the first time Babar has encountered trouble with the police. Earlier in the year, he was pulled over for not having a valid number plate and was subsequently fined.

On the professional front, Babar’s performance in the 2023 Asia Cup was a mixed bag, with underwhelming scores of 17, 10, and 29 against Bangladesh, India, and Sri Lanka, respectively. However, amidst the mediocrity, he showcased his brilliance with an impressive knock of 151 against Nepal in the opening game of the continental tournament. With the upcoming 2023 ODI World Cup in India on the horizon, all eyes are on Babar as he seeks to make amends and reclaim his cricketing glory.
