Imagine boarding a flight like any other day and seeing your favourite celebrity on the same. You will most definitely scream and laugh out of excitement, right? That’s exactly what happened when a group of flyers on an IndiGo flight recently met with the beloved South superstar Rajinikanth. In a video posted by an X user, the 74-year-old actor was seen stepping inside the aircraft, and the passengers could not contain their excitement.
Taking to the social media platform on Friday, April 25, a user by the name of Paaru Kumudha Pathikum shared a video of nearly 20 seconds where Rajinikanth was being escorted inside by the staff of the aircraft. Dressed in a simple black T-shirt, the actor waved at the flyers upon entering the flight with a bright smile on his face. He was greeted with loud cheers and wide-eyed stares as he took his seat in the window at the front row. Seeing the superstar fly economy on a flight, much like a commoner, the crowd went berserk.

In no time, the video caught the attention of Rajinikanth’s fans on the internet. On the post titled “THATS RIGHT. I GOT தலைவர் தரிசனம்!!!!!!!! Crying. Shivering. Heart beating peakeddddddd," many have shared their thoughts on seeing the superstar on the flight.

On the work front, the 74-year-old actor was last seen on-screen in the film Vettaiyan, which co-starred Amitabh Bachchan, Fahadh Faasil, Rana Daggubati and Manju Warrier, among others. Released in October last year, the film underperformed at the box office. After the T. J. Gnanavel directorial, the South superstar now has two films in the pipeline.
The first one is Coolie, which is scheduled to be released in the second half of 2025. Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, the Tamil-language action thriller would feature Rajinikanth alongside Nagarjuna, Upendra, Soubin Shahir, Sathyaraj, Shruti Haasan, Reba Monica John and others.
Currently, the actor is busy with the shooting of his other film, Jailer 2. Directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, the film would bring back the character of Tiger Muthuvel Pandian, the retired jailer. The first Jailer film, released in 2023, had a phenomenal run at the box office, earning around Rs 650 crore worldwide. It became one of the biggest blockbusters in Rajinikanth’s career.
