The iconic Ava Bridge fell as powerful earthquakes struck Myanmar. The bridge which connects Myanmar’s Ava and Sagaing regions was seen falling in videos widely shared on social media after a strong 7.7-magnitude earthquake struck Mandalay in Myanmar, followed by an aftershock of 6.4 magnitude.
The aftershock struck Myanmar’s Sagaing region just 12 minutes after the initial quake and tremors were felt as far as Thailand’s capital, Bangkok, and the northern city of Chiang Mai.

In videos circulating on social media, residents were seen running out of buildings in fear.
The earthquake also caused severe structural damage in Bangkok as buildings reportedly collapsed, including a skyscraper under construction.
