DC vs SRH IPL 2025: Delhi Capitals registered their second win in two games to reach the second position on the points table.

Delhi Capitals vs Sunrisers Hyderabad, IPL 2025: Star Australia pacer Mitchell Starc’s five-wicket haul and vice-captain Faf du Plessis’ 27-ball 50-run knock ensured that DC registered their second successive win in the tournament, clocking two victories in as many matches.
Opting to bat, Hyderabad stumbled to 163 in the 19th over despite unheralded Aniket Verma’s stunning 74 off 41 deliveries and Heinrich Klaasen’s 32 off 19 balls.

Kuldeep Yadav bagged 3/22, being an able ally for Starc, who surprisingly picked his first five-wicket haul in T20 cricket.
Starc cleaned up the tail, taking two wickets in three deliveries in the penultimate over, as SRH could barely manage 163.
In reply, the Axar Patel-led Delhi Capitals chased down the target in just 16 overs, thanks to a blistering start by vice-captain Faf du Plessis (50 off 27) and Jake Fraser-McGurk (38 off 32).
Du Plessis built an 81-run opening partnership with Fraser-McGurk as Delhi overhauled Hyderabad’s insufficient 163 all out easily, for their second successive win.
Once Delhi openers made a quick beginning off the block, the result was never in doubt, but their approach was different.
Du Plessis wound the clock back with some brilliant shots, such as a straight six off Cummins. But at the other end, McGurk was struggling for his timing, due to his exaggerated back lift and due to his desire to hit the ball for sixes.
But du Plessis was willing to do the heavy lifting and brought up his half-century in 26 deliveries.
Du Plessis thus became the third 40-plus batter to score a half-century in the Indian Premier League after Adam Gilchrist and Chris Gayle.
But the partnership was broken when debutant leg spinner Zeeshan Ansari dismissed du Plessis, who departed following a stunning running catch from Wiaan Mulder to join the list of brilliant catches in the evening.
Ansari, who was once part of India’s U19 World Cup team which had Rishabh Pant, Ishan Kishan and Washington Sundar, soon got rid of McGurk and KL Rahul in quick succession to reduce Delhi Capitals to 115/3 in the 12th over but that wasn’t enough to create any excitement.
