This release signifies the tenth addition to a line of nutraceuticals created by CMFRI utilising marine organisms. Previously, the institute has effectively introduced nutraceuticals addressing various lifestyle ailments like type-2 diabetes, arthritis, cholesterol, hypertension, hypothyroidism, osteoporosis and fatty liver. Dr Chakraborty explained that the nutraceutical product was developed using bioactive compounds extracted from seaweeds, which served as the basis for its creation.

Administering CadalminTM IMe to cells induced by the SARS-CoV-2 delta variant showcased a notable decrease in viral infection rates. Dr Chakraborty noted that the product enhances the body’s innate immune reactions by regulating the secretion of pro-inflammatory cytokines and chemokines. Importantly, the nutraceutical has been subjected to comprehensive preclinical trials and has been verified to be free from any adverse effects.
