South Korean actor Kim Soo Hyun has been at the centre of a massive controversy following the untimely demise of actress Kim Sae Ron and the shocking revelations made by the latter’s aunt. Following the immense backlash and outrage, a new update by Korean media has revealed that the Queen of Tears actor’s agency, Gold Medalist, is trying to piece together the circumstances which led to Kim Sae Ron’s tragic death.

According to industry insiders, the company, which was also the late actress’ former agency, is trying their best to gather information and data that could shed light on the struggles of Sae Ron before her death. Gold Medalist is doing this to challenge the notion that the financial burden related to her debt repayment to the agency was the sole reason behind her death. Additionally, the agency is trying to meet with her work acquaintances and persuade them to hold a press conference.

“It appears that Gold Medalist has been checking up on certain materials and data through various channels over the past few months leading up to Kim Sae Ron’s death, which could provide insight into her schedule and state of mind," said an insider, as quoted by Koreaboo.

The source further added, “I also understand that they have met several people who supported this information, and they are currently persuading one or two key individuals to come forward for interviews or a press conference."

Gold Medalist is trying its best to control damage on various fronts. They are reportedly engaging on three fronts to handle the crisis. Firstly, the company has appointed a law firm to oversee legal reviews. Next, they have dedicated a management team to monitor media and advertisements.

Lastly, Gold Medalist has set up a crisis management unit comprising internal and external experts, which is actively meeting with Sae Ron’s acquaintances and former agency officials to backtrack the steps that led to her untimely death. This step by the company comes after Kim Soo Hyun faced several repercussions due to the controversy, from losing major brand deals to uncertainty about his future projects.

The It’s Okay to Not Be Okay actor was removed as a brand ambassador for the global luxury brand Prada. The controversy also resulted in the removal of his advertisements for Eider and the vegan beauty company Dinto, as well as the bakery chain Tous les Jours, also distanced them from Soo Hyun. On the other hand, his upcoming K-drama Knock-Off is likely to get cancelled.
