Prithviraj REACTS To Mohanlal's L2: Empuraan Vs Salman Khan's Sikandar Box Office Clash: 'There's No Competition...'

This Eid weekend is set to be a major one for Indian cinema. Leading the charge is L2: Empuraan, touted as the most expensive Malayalam film ever, starring the iconic Mohanlal. Right after it, Salman Khan’s Sikandar will make its grand entry, marking his return to the big screen. His previous film Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan, was released in 2023, and fans are now looking forward to his next action-packed project. At a recent promotional event for Empuraan, director Prithviraj Sukumaran spoke about the potential face-off between the two films.
L2: Empuraan, directed by Prithviraj, will release on March 27, while Sikandar will arrive in theaters on March 30. During a recent press conference, Prithviraj said there is no competition between the two films and wished Sikandar all the best.

“Salman Khan is one of the biggest stars in the country, and there is no competition between the two movies. I hope it becomes a blockbuster," said Prithviraj. “I will have no complaints if you watch L2: Empuraan at 11 a.m. and Sikandar at 1 p.m.," he said.
Meanwhile, the advance bookings for Salman Khan and Rashmika Mandanna’s highly anticipated Eid release, Sikandar, have begun with a strong response. In just a few hours, over 40,000 tickets were sold, with the Hindi 2D version alone grossing Rs 1.13 crore. Including block bookings, the film has earned more than Rs 5 crore in ticket sales, with a total of 7,952 shows scheduled across India.
According to trade tracker Sacnilk, Delhi leads the pack with 21.84 lakh tickets sold, followed by Rajasthan (13.33 lakh) and Maharashtra (20.39 lakh). However, Himachal Pradesh has seen the least sales so far, with only 1,150 tickets booked. Despite a slow start in some areas, distributors are confident that the film will earn around Rs 50 crore over its opening weekend.
