Most Wickets in IPL 2025, Purple Cap: Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) secured a crucial eight-wicket win over Rajasthan Royals (RR) at Guwahati’s Baraspara Stadium to get their first points on the IPL 2025 table. After a series of high-scoring matches, we finally got to see a sticky, slow wicket where RR could only manage 151/9 in the first innings. In reply, KKR reached 153/2 in the 18th over, thanks to an unbeaten 97 (61) from Quinton de Kock.
It was led by two contrasting performances from the two bowling attacks. Batting first, the Royals lost nine wickets, while in the chase, the Knight Riders lost just two, with one of them being a run-out.

A lot like their title-winning campaign in IPL 2023, KKR found immense joy on a pitch where there was a bit of grip and turn for their spinners. On the other hand, RR’s Sri Lankan spin duo of Wanindu Hasaranga and Maheesh Theekshana couldn’t produce enough and their pace-heavy set-up looked out of sorts.
