Bengaluru Shocker: Man Stabs Girlfriend To Death, Spends Day With Body At Apartment
The decomposed body of the victim, identified as Maya Gogoi, was found in the service apartment, which she had reportedly booked with her boyfriend, Arnav Harni.

In a shocking incident, a woman, hailing from Assam was found dead in a service apartment in Bengaluru’s Indiranagar locality on Tuesday, the metropolitan police said. The decomposed body of the victim, identified as Maya Gogoi, was found in the service apartment, which she had reportedly booked with her boyfriend, Aarav Harni on November 23.
The police suspect that Harni, a native of Kerala, had killed Maya on November 24 by stabbing her multiple times and stayed with the body for a day before walking out of the rented apartment. Gogoi was working as a counsellor for a private company and lived in the HSR Layout area in the metropolis.

According to police, the suspect was also at the service apartment for the last three days with the victim. CCTV footage of the apartment showed that the woman and the suspect arriving at the apartment on November 23. After killing her, he remained in the room with the body, which was found to be partially decomposed on Tuesday, the officer said.
It further said that the accused stabbed the victim on the chest with an old knife, and had even purchased a nylon rope online to asphyxiate her, suggesting that the decision to kill her was pre-planned.
The exact date when he possibly killed her can be ascertained only after police gets the post-mortem report which is awaited, the cop added.
Police said the woman who joined the private firm in Jayanagar just about 20 days ago had come to Bengaluru six months ago. Since then, she had been living with her sister and a friend at an apartment in Whitefield area.
A case under section 103 for murder and 238 for causing disappearance of evidence of offence has been registered under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, police said, adding teams have been formed to nab the suspect.
Earlier, a 33-year-old Bengaluru businesswoman was found dead at her residence with an 11-page death note alleging that a senior police officer stripped her and demanded a bribe of Rs 25 lakh, according to media reports.
The deceased woman was identified as S Jeeva who was allegedly abetted to suicide by Bengaluru Deputy Superintendent of Police Kanakalakshmi against whom the police have registered a case under sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act 1988 besides relevant sections of the BNS.
