Kamra uploaded a video on his official YouTube channel in which he allegedly made offensive remarks about Shinde, referring to him as a “traitor”. Giving a musical touch to Maharashtra politics on the lines of ‘Dil To Pagal Hai’ song ‘Bholi Si Surat’, Kamra said, “Meri nazar se tum dekho to gaddar nazar wo aaye. Haaye!”, referring to Shinde’s 2022 rebellion.
The video sparked outrage among supporters of the Shinde-led Shiv Sena faction, leading to protests and legal action against the comedian. Videos widely shared on social media showed party workers vandalising a studio where Kamra had reportedly shot the video. Protesters smashed chairs, tables, and lights, expressing their outrage over the comedian’s remarks. At least 12 people were arrested and sent to judicial custody.

Later, an FIR was also filed against Shiv Sena workers for vandalising the studio. Shiv Sena (Shinde faction) leader Rahul Narain Kanal, Shrikant Sarmalkar and others were reportedly detained for vandalising Hotel UniContinental, the venue of Kamra’s stand-up gig.
Mumbai’s Habitat Studio has announced that it is shutting down temporarily after the vandalism by Shiv Sena workers. “We have never been involved in the content performed by any Artist, but the recent events have made us rethink about how we get blamed and targeted every time almost like we are a proxy for the performer,” the studio’s official handle wrote.
