Junaid Khan and Khushi Kapoor recently made their big screen debuts in Loveyapa. As Junaid and Khushi’s hilarious love story plays out on screen, parallelly, Tanvika Parlikar gets into her own share of ‘loveyapa’. Tanvika plays Junaid’s sister in the film. In an exclusive conversation with News18, the actress opened up about working with Junaid Khan, meeting Aamir Khan and what appealed to her about the film.

Tanvika lauded Junaid Khan for his honesty and involvement in every aspect of the film. “Junaid is lovely. He’s so honest and hardworking. He brings a lot of sincerity to everything he does. Even on set, he was always up for running lines or rehearsing something. He would always be on set and be involved in everything around him, whether it was little stuff to do with production or thinking about continuity. He was so invested in the project and you could see that on set. He’s a lovely co-actor," she told us.

Although Tanvika worked closely with Junaid, she only met his superstar father, Aamir Khan, at the film’s trailer launch. The actress praised Aamir for his approachability despite his status in Bollywood. She mentioned, “He’s the sweetest and kindest man. He took us all under his wing. For a lot of us, this is our first big release. We’re working with such amazing people for the first time. He made us feel very comfortable which is hard to do for a man of his stature. He asks you questions and makes you feel like you can talk to him."

As Tanvika plays Junaid’s sister in the film, she didn’t have many scenes with Khushi Kapoor. However, the two actresses got a chance to know each other better during the film’s promotions. Tanvika opined, “She’s the sweetest and warmest person. It has been lovely getting to know her. She has done such a fabulous job in the film."

When asked why Loveyapa appealed to Tanvika, she told us, “When I read the script, it was so fun and frothy- just the perfect rom-com for Valentine’s season. The first thing that stood out to me was how funny it was; it seemed like a family entertainer. I feel I haven’t seen one in a theatre in a long time. Of course, it was produced by Phantom Studios and directed by Advait Chandan so I immediately knew it was in the hands of amazing and capable people."

Although Tanvika was excited about Loveyapa, she was equally nervous after her audition and called her mother to calm her nerves. However, she got a call from the makers just an hour later and they told her she would be playing Kiran. Loveyapa was released in theatres on February 7 to largely positive reviews. Tanvika was praised by viewers for holding her own in her scenes with Junaid Khan. As Loveyapa continues its box office run, Tanvika Parlikar is now prepping to get busy with theatre.
