Indian cinema’s global influence continues to grow, and actor Jr NTR recently shared a touching experience from his visit to Japan that reflects this impact. During the screening of his latest release, Devara, the RRR star took to social media to express his joy after meeting a Japanese fan who revealed that she had learned Telugu after watching the film.

Sharing his thoughts on X (formerly Twitter), Jr NTR wrote, “My visits to Japan always give me beautiful memories but this one hit differently. Hearing a Japanese fan tell me she learned Telugu after watching RRR truly moved me."

The actor, who played the titular role in the blockbuster directed by Koratala Siva, was deeply touched by the cultural exchange facilitated by the film. He added, “Being a lover of cinema and languages, the power of cinema to be a bridge across cultures and encouraging a fan to learn a language is something I will never forget. One more reason to celebrate Indian Cinema as it travels the world."

Previously, he had shared his screening experience of Devara in the East Asian country where the audience showered him with love and cheers. The pan-India star received an overwhelming response. The video that Jr NTR posted on his official Instagram handle shows the audience erupting in cheers as he casually walks in, all smiles, greeting his fans in Japan.

In his Instagram post, the superstar expressed his gratitude to the Japanese audience with the caption, “Overwhelmed, Japan! Can’t wait for the Japanese audience to experience #Devara in cinemas from March 28th".

This is not the first time RRR has resonated with international audiences. The film, which also stars Ram Charan, has enjoyed unprecedented success overseas, particularly in Japan. Released in the country in March 2022, RRR became one of the highest-grossing Indian films in Japan, breaking several records. The film’s gripping storytelling, action sequences and emotional depth impressed the Japanese viewers, leading to an enthusiastic fan following.
