Kabir Khan’s infectious enthusiasm was reflected in his acceptance speech for Chandu Champion. He shared, “This has been a very special film for us, and I’d really like to thank Sajid Nadiadwala for backing this and my dear friend, Kartik Aaryan, for doing all the hard work to portray Muralikant Petkar’s story on screen."

Kabir further recalled how the real-life journey of Muralikant Petkar, India’s first individual gold medalist at the Paralympics, ignited his passion to bring the story to the big screen. “When I first heard his story, I couldn’t believe that someone had achieved so much, yet most Indians didn’t even know about him. It would’ve been criminal not to tell his story," he added.

In a touching conclusion, Kabir reflected on the film’s impact. “Six months after the film’s release, Kartik and I witnessed the President of India presenting Muralikant Petkar with the Lifetime Arjuna Award at Rashtrapati Bhavan. That moment was the biggest validation we could ask for."
