Lauding the lead actor’s performance in the show, he added, “Owen Cooper’s performance is nothing short of flawless, he deserves every award out there! Huge kudos to the entire team for crafting this brilliant masterpiece."
Adolescence, set in a working-class British village, depicts the upsetting yet immensely empathetic story of a 13-year-old boy coming of age under great emotional and social pressures. The series delves into the psychological effects of neglect, broken households but it’s the raw, emotional interaction between parent and child—particularly Owen Cooper’s performance—that makes an indelible impression on the audience.
Directed by Philip Barantini, the show also features Stephen Graham, Erin Doherty, Ashley Walters and Faye Marasey.
Apart from Madhur, other celebs who lauded the limited series include Alia Bhatt, Sara Ali Khan, Janhvi Kapoor, Masaba Gupta, Karan Johar, Shekhar Kapur, Anurag Kashyap, Vedang Raina and others.
Stephen Graham, who co-wrote Adolescence and played Owen Cooper’s father, thought the program would be most popular in the United Kingdom. However, he was startled by the amount of discussion it caused and the strong reaction it drew from Indian viewers.
Coming back to Madhur, his last directorial project was Babli Bouncer, featuring Tamannaah Bhatia in the lead role. Produced under the banners of Star Studios and Junglee Pictures, the film was released on Disney+ Hotstar in September 2022.
His next project it reportedly titled Wives of Bollywood, which explores the hidden realities of the lives of Bollywood star wives. The official release date is yet to be announced.
