PM Narendra Modi Congratulates IIFA On 25 Years, Wishes For Continued Success

The 25th edition of the IIFA Awards, held last weekend in Jaipur, Rajasthan, was a grand celebration of Indian cinema. Hosted by Kartik Aaryan and Karan Johar, the event saw dazzling performances by Shah Rukh Khan, Kareena Kapoor, and Nora Fatehi, making it a star-studded spectacle.
As the prestigious awards marked a milestone, Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended his congratulations, recognizing IIFA’s 25-year journey in promoting Indian cinema on a global scale. In an official letter shared by IIFA’s Instagram handle, he praised the organization for its contribution to the film industry.

“I am pleased to learn about the 25th edition of the International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) Awards. This two-and-a-half decade journey reflects the commitment of all those who have contributed towards making IIFA a truly global phenomenon—producers, directors, artists, musicians, technicians, and most importantly, audiences worldwide," the message read.
PM Modi also acknowledged IIFA’s role in recognizing cinematic brilliance and expanding Indian cinema’s reach to newer audiences. “Platforms like IIFA make sure that such cinematic brilliance is celebrated and encouraged," the note stated. He concluded his message with warm wishes for IIFA’s continued success: “May this 25th edition of IIFA be a huge success. May it be the inspiration for the next 25 years of growth and achievement."
Sharing the letter, IIFA expressed gratitude for the Prime Minister’s recognition. “As we celebrate 25 glorious years of International IIFA, we are deeply honored to receive this special message from Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi, recognizing IIFA’s journey and its role in taking Indian cinema to the world," read the caption.
This year, IIFA hosted two ceremonies in Jaipur on March 8 and 9, honoring achievements in digital films and theatrical releases. Laapataa Ladies emerged as the biggest winner, sweeping 10 awards. The IIFA Awards 2024 will be available to watch on ZEE TV on March 16, Sunday, at 8 PM.
