Salman Khan Reveals Young Stars Refused His Two-Hero Films: 'Actors Today Are Very Insecure’
Ahead of Sikandar’s release, Salman Khan called today’s young actors “insecure,” revealing they refused to collaborate on two-hero films despite multiple offers.

Salman Khan, one of Bollywood’s longest-reigning stars, isn’t holding back his thoughts on the current state of the industry. As he gears up for the release of his much-awaited film Sikandar, the actor addressed the media at a press conference in Mumbai on March 26, 2025—and used the moment to call out what he sees as growing insecurity among the new generation of actors.

Reflecting on the lack of collaboration in today’s Hindi cinema, Salman said, “Actors today have become very insecure. Do you see any of the younger generation stars doing two-hero films?" He revealed that he had approached several younger actors—both individually and for joint projects—but they declined, often citing vague excuses. “The truth is, they just didn’t want to work together," he added.
Salman contrasted this with the camaraderie he shared with his contemporaries. Throughout his career, he’s shared the screen with stars like Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan, Akshay Kumar, Sanjay Dutt, Anil Kapoor, and Jackie Shroff. “We used to do multiple films together, even make guest appearances for each other. It was about bringing our fans together and boosting box office numbers. And in the process, we became friends, spending 100–150 days shooting together."
But it wasn’t just actors who came under Salman’s scanner. He also questioned the current mindset of filmmakers and producers. Quoting his father, veteran screenwriter Salim Khan, he said, “Movies are being made for all the wrong reasons—because an actor’s dates are free, or a heroine is getting married, or funding is available. Where’s the creative vision?"
With Sikandar on the horizon, Salman is once again stepping into the spotlight—this time alongside Rashmika Mandanna in a high-octane action entertainer directed by AR Murugadoss and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala. The film is slated to release on Sunday, March 30, 2025, and is expected to be a major box office draw.
