Watch: Dua Lipa Surprises Fans With Troye Sivan Collab At Melbourne Concert
Keeping up her tradition of celebrating Australian artists while touring the country, Dua Lipa pulled out all the stops by inviting none other than Perth’s own Troye Sivan on stage for a show-stopping performance of his hit Rush.

Saturday night in Melbourne was pure magic for Dua Lipa fans. Her Radical Optimism tour has already been full of surprises. Keeping up her tradition of celebrating Australian artists while touring the country, she pulled out all the stops by inviting none other than Perth’s own Troye Sivan on stage for a show-stopping performance of his hit Rush. Before the crowd even had a clue what was coming, Dua set the stage for the night’s special moment. “So this next song in the set is different every night," she told the packed Rod Laver Arena. She explained how this part of the show was her chance to highlight a local artist. Then, with a grin, she added, “And so tonight, I thought it would be a big mistake if I didn’t play one of my favourite, favourite artists who’s also a friend of mine."
The audience was already excited, but she wasn’t done teasing them yet. “This is a song I’ve been listening to for a really long time, I mean, 2023 until now, but this is a Saturday night banger, so I think it’s going to be a fun one," she said.

As soon as the beat dropped, the crowd erupted. But the real shock came moments later when Troye Sivan casually walked onto the stage, unannounced. The two of them dove into the song, their voices blending effortlessly as they moved across the stage, completely in sync. Fans screamed, danced and sang along, caught up in a performance they wouldn’t soon forget.
This wasn’t the first time Dua had used her Australian tour stops to pay homage to the country’s music legends. In previous shows, she had taken on AC/DC’s Highway to Hell, Natalie Imbruglia’s Torn and Kylie Minogue’s Can’t Get You Out of My Head.
But that wasn’t even the night’s only surprise. At one point during the show, Dua and Troye made their way into the crowd, picking out one very lucky fan. The reason? They handed over a pink USB drive containing an unreleased remix of her song Physical featuring Troye. As if that wasn’t enough, they actually encouraged the fan to leak it.
According to Billboard, Dua’s Melbourne performances have been nothing short of spectacular. Critics have praised her ability to create an atmosphere that brings together people of all ages – from young kids and TikTok influencers to longtime fans and Gen X parents. Her shows are a perfect mix of powerhouse vocals, mesmerising choreography and jaw-dropping production. Fireworks? Check. Stunning visuals? Check. Non-stop energy? Absolutely. Hits like New Rules, Electricity and Don’t Start Now had the crowd on their feet, while reimagined versions of songs like Be the One kept things fresh and exciting.
With one more Melbourne show left before heading to Sydney, there’s no telling what other surprises she might have in store.
