Recently, another unique food video surfaced online, which shows the making of a traditional Bengali delicacy – Daal Bari. It is a variety of lentil-based snacks, which is sun-dried and used as a versatile ingredient in various Indian dishes. The video was shared by a food vlogger on his Instagram handle. It featured vendors making daal baari in bulk. The preparations begin with a woman kneading dal batter in a machine, which is then transferred to a mould. The daal baris are given circular shapes and then sun-dried on a steel plate. After that, they are stored and packaged for sale.

    The video, which was posted with the caption, “Bengal Traditional Daal Bari Making at Naihati Village" garnered 30 million views on Instagram. Many people shared their feedback in the comment section. A user wrote, “OMG I didn’t think it was food considering the carelessness in preparation."

    Another added, “Somebody introduce the concept of a table to them please."

    Someone else commented, “Barehand and barefoot taste."

    A person defended the food-making process and wrote, “You know people survived for centuries eating food outside and eating food made like this and not in sanitary kitchens with hygiene ratings. If you don’t like it, don’t eat it or go there. Simple."
