Ashutosh Sharma Dedicates POTM Award Against LSG To 'Mentor Shikhar Paaji'
Ashutosh Sharma came out to bat at No. 7 for Delhi Capitals on Monday and, with the help of 5 fours and 5 sixes, scored 66 runs from 31 balls.

Ashutosh Sharma, who hammered 66 runs from 31 balls on Monday (March 24) to seal a memorable win by one wicket for Delhi Capitals in the IPL 2025 match played against Lucknow Super Giants, dedicated his Player of the Match award to former India opener Shikhar Dhawan, who, according to him, is his mentor.
While speaking in the post-match presentation ceremony, the 26-year-old batter said he missed out on finishing a couple of games last season when he was part of Punjab Kings but was prepared to get the job done this year.

According to Ashutosh, he had the belief that if he will play till the end, then he would win the match for Delhi Capitals, and that’s what he did as well.
“Took the lessons from last year. Missed out on finishing the game on a couple of occasions in the previous season. The whole year I focused and visualised it. Had the belief that if I play till the last over, anything can happen. Well played to Vipraj. I asked him to keep hitting. He was very calm under pressure. I want to dedicate this award to my mentor, Shikhar Paaji," Ashutosh said.
In the IPL 2025 match played at Dr YS Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam, the 26-year-old right-handed batter from Ratlam came out to bat at No. 7 for DC and hammered five fours and five sixes. He added 48 runs for the sixth wicket with Tristan Stubbs (34) and 55 runs for the seventh wicket with Vipraj Nigam (39).
Ashutosh, who was signed for Rs 3.80 crore by Delhi Capitals in the IPL 2025 mega auction, hammered Shahbaz Ahmed for a six down the ground when DC needed five runs to win from four balls with only one wicket in hand.
Dhawan was Ashutosh’s captain
Ashutosh played under Shikhar Dhawan’s leadership in the IPL last year for Punjab Kings. The former Indian opener gave him the chance to make his IPL debut last year, and in his first season for the Punjab-based franchise, Ashutosh hammered 189 runs in nine innings of 11 matches.
