Woman Plots Husband's Murder Within 2 Weeks Of Wedding, Uses 'Shagun' Cash & Lover's Help To Hire Killer
Unhappy with the marriage and determined to be with her lover, the woman and her lover hatched a plan to kill Dilip.
As the Meerut Merchant Navy officer’s brutal murder by his wife and her lover shook the nation, another horrific case came into limelight from Uttar Pradesh’s Auraiya where a 22-year-old woman hatched a plan with her lover and hired contract killers to kill her husband whom she married just two weeks ago.
As per news agency PTI, the accused woman, identified as Pragati Yadav, was in a relationship with her lover, identified as Anurag Yadav for the past four years. However, she was forced by her family to marry 25-year-old Dilip Yadav on March 5, police said.

Auraiya Superintendent of Police Abijith R Shankar said that unhappy with the marriage and determined to be with her lover, Pragati and Anurag hatched a conspiracy to kill Dilip. The two then hired a contract killer, identified as Ramaji Chaudhary, to murder Dilip and paid him Rs 2 lakh to do the job, the police said.

According to AajTak report, Pragati used the “shagun" cash she received during the wedding rituals to hire the contract killer for Rs 2 lakh.
On March 19, Dilip was returning from Kannauj, where he had gone for some work. As per the police, the contract killer along with some other people, took Dilip to the fields on a bike. Upon reaching, they started beating the victim and shot him.
The locals found him in a severely injured state and informed the police. He was rushed to the community health center in Bidhuna for treatment. He was taken to Saifai Hospital and then moved to Gwalior in Madhya Pradesh. He was then shifted to a hospital in Auraiya where he succumbed to his injuries on the night of March 21, Sahar SHO Pankaj Mishra told PTI.
How The Accused Were Nabbed?
The crime came into limelight when police examined CCTV footage of the nearby areas. The footage showed Dilip being taken away on a motorcycle. This led to the identification of Ramji. Acting on the intellegence, police arrested both Ramji and Anurag. During the interrogation, both men confessed to the crime and revealed the mastermind behind the murder- Pragati.
Officials also seized two pistols, four live cartridges, a bike, two mobile phones, one purse, Aadhar card, and Rs 3,000 from the accused.
In a similar case, a Merchant Navy officer- Saurabh Rajput- from Meerut was murdered, chopped up and the 15-odd pieces of his body were put into a drum and sealed with cement, the police said. The investigation into the case brought to fore an extramarital affair between Saurabh Rajput’s wife Muskan Rastogi and her lover Sahil Shukla.
