Pawan Kalyan Will Juggle Films And Politics, Says He’ll Act ‘As Long As He Needs Money’
Deputy Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh and actor Pawan Kalyan plans to juggle his acting and political career, aiming to work for the people while continuing films for financial needs.

Pawan Kalyan has never been one to sugarcoat things, and his latest statement proves just that. The OG star and politician recently opened up about juggling films and politics, clarifying that he has no plans to quit acting anytime soon. And his reason was quite an honest one as he said that “he’ll act as long as he needs money!" Pawan Kalyan is the Deputy Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh who has three films lined up that he has yet to complete, including OG.
Talking to Thanthi TV, Kalyan confirmed that despite his political commitments, he will continue acting, as he has already signed on for multiple projects. He said, “I took a lot of inspiration from Henry David Thoreau, yogis, or siddhars. You do something selflessly and work for the people…that’s what I thought. I never amassed that (wealth)…I never started any business, including film production. My only income is cinema. Because I have committed (to films) I now have to do justice."

Pawan Kalyan’s party, Janasena, secured victory in all the seats it contested in Andhra Pradesh as part of its alliance with the Telugu Desam Party and the Bharatiya Janata Party.
When asked how he planned to juggle both careers without being called a ‘part-time actor’ or a ‘part-time politician,’ Pawan Kalyan had a simple response – if politicians can run businesses while holding office, why can’t he continue acting?
“A lot of leaders have their own businesses. If they could do that and also do well in politics, so can I. You have to be a passionate actor and a passionate political leader for both to work. When I was acting, I was learning about administration and reading up on public policy from the mid-90s. As long as I need money, I would like to (act). That too without compromising on my administrative and political job," he said.
Pawan Kalyan last graced the big screen in the 2023 film Bro alongside his nephew, Sai Durga Tej. Before diving into his election campaign and taking on the role of Andhra Pradesh’s Deputy CM, he had already committed to several film projects. He still has unfinished work on Hari Hara Veera Mallu with Krish and AM Jyothi Krishna, They Call Him OG with Sujeeth, and Ustaad Bhagat Singh with Harish Shankar.
