Top Indian intelligence sources say that the arrest of Mahrang Baloch has become a flashpoint for broader Baloch demands for justice and autonomy. “The Pakistani government is calling these actions counter-terrorism measures, but they are repression of peaceful dissent," said a source.
The ongoing protests in Balochistan represent a critical juncture in the region’s struggle and call for global intervention to address human rights abuses. This kind of behaviour towards any female protester is unheard of in a democratic country and demonstrates an abuse of state power, said sources.
