Salman Khan Breaks Silence On Why Atlee’s Film Is Shelved, Bajrangi Bhaijaan Sequel: ‘We Tried Hard, But…’
While Atlee’s film may be off the table for now, Salman has plenty lined up to keep his fans excited.
After the roaring success of Jawan with Shah Rukh Khan, fans eagerly awaited Salman Khan’s collaboration with director Atlee. Rumours had been rife that the two were teaming up for a high-octane, mass entertainer. However, after months of speculation, Salman has finally broken his silence and confirmed that the much-anticipated project is no longer happening — at least not anytime soon.

In a recent group interview promoting his upcoming Eid release Sikandar, Salman addressed the swirling rumours and admitted that while the film was in the works, things didn’t pan out as expected. “I don’t think it’s happening right now. It was happening at one point of time. We tried really hard to work it out, but somehow it didn’t happen. I don’t know what exactly was the reason. I believe it was the budget of the film. It’s a very high-budget film. So now the film has been pushed," he explained.
Salman further elaborated that his packed schedule had to be reshuffled following the project’s delay. “You generally allocate dates for two films at a time, so now I have time in hand to do one film now and then another back to back," he added.

As for his future plans, the superstar maybe headlining Sooraj Barjatya’s next project. Barjatya is currently working on Prem Ki Shaadi with Ayushmann Khurrana, after which Salman is likely to take over the director’s next film.
Meanwhile, fans hoping for a sequel to Bajrangi Bhaijaan may not have to wait too long. Salman teased that the project is in the works but added with a laugh, “A sequel to Bajrangi Bhaijaan can be made, but the problem is, by the time it’s ready, Munni will be speaking!"
Khan also addressed the buzz around Tiger vs Pathaan, his much-talked-about project with Shah Rukh Khan. However, he confirmed that the action-packed spy thriller is not happening “right now."
