Man Claims Gurugram Startup Fired Him For Taking Tea Breaks, Reddit Says, 'Name And Shame Them'
The Reddit user said that on the 20th day after his joining, they asked him to shift to his cabin.

A Reddit post about a bizarre exit from a Gurugram-based startup has been making waves online. An employee shared how his time at the company came to an abrupt end in just 20 days after joining. According to his post, issues surfaced on the third day of his joining when his employer accused him of having an “attitude problem" and not being “down to earth."
“So, I joined this startup in Gurgaon and on the third day, my employer tells me I’m not down to earth, I have an attitude problem and this way we can’t work together," the user wrote. Though confused, he assured his boss he would work on it.

“I didn’t understand, still I said I don’t have an attitude, I’ll work on it, although I did not even understand why he was saying that," he added.
Things escalated when the employer disapproved of his casual tea and smoke breaks with fellow new joinees. “Don’t create groups, it’s not good for the company," he was told.
Even his habit of leaving right on time became a concern. “You are leaving exactly at 7, this is not good," the employer allegedly pointed out.
On the 20th day, the situation took an odd turn when the director asked him to shift to his cabin. “For some days you’ll be working here only," he recalled.
“Dude who works like that in a cabin all day with your director," he added. Though the setup felt strange, the man agreed.
As the clock neared 7 PM, he casually glanced outside the cabin to check if his colleague had left for their usual tea break. The director noticed and wasn’t pleased.
“Why are you looking outside, I’m talking here?" he snapped at him. The user claimed that the director then called the HR and he was terminated immediately.
In the comments section, many social media users backed the Redditor and criticised the employer’s behaviour.
One user commented, “Good riddance to bad rubbish," while another added, “It’s great that you left the place. That’s called a toxic work environment." Another wrote, “Bro, you dodged the bullet!"
A user pointed out, “That startup isn’t going anywhere but down, good you quit." Someone advised, “Be happy that you got fired from that place. Look for a better opportunity. Don’t take this to heart." An individual also noted, “Name and shame them."
