'Raised On Juice And Music': Restaurant Charges Rs 5,600 For Half A Chicken
A restaurant in China charged Rs 5,600 for half a plate of chicken, claiming the high price is due to the chickens being raised on sunflower juice and classical music.

A restaurant in China left customers in disbelief after charging an eye-watering Rs 5,600 (480 yuan) for just half a plate of chicken. The staggering price tag, however, isn’t the only thing raising eyebrows – it’s the restaurant’s bizarre justification that has sparked a frenzy online.
A social media content creator recently visited a high-end club restaurant in Shanghai, only to be stunned when presented with the bill. The cost of his half-serving of chicken was so high that he jokingly asked the staff whether the chicken had been raised on a specific diet. His sarcastic remark, however, was met with a response even more peculiar than the price itself.

According to restaurant staff, the steep price is due to the unique upbringing of their so-called “sunflower chickens" or “yellow chickens". These chickens, they claimed, were raised in sunflower fields, where they drink the nutrient-rich juice extracted from sunflower stems. But that’s not all – apparently, they also grow up listening to classical music, a practice the restaurant insists enhances the texture and flavour of the meat.
For those willing to splurge on the full experience, an entire sunflower chicken will set diners back 1,000 yuan (approximately Rs 12,000). While some customers are intrigued by the lavish treatment of these chickens, others have dismissed it as an extravagant marketing gimmick.
