According to British security agencies, he had read a book titled How to Kill Your Family before carrying out the murders. He planned to kill his family while they were sleeping, but his mother caught him and tried to snatch the gun from his hands. Prosper shot her in the head and left the book How to Kill Your Family near her body. He then shot his sister, who was hiding in the living room. His younger brother ran towards the kitchen, but Prosper shot him in the chest and stabbed him more than 100 times.
Planned School Massacre
After the murders, he hid the gun in a nearby field and evaded the police for two hours. With the intent to commit further killings, he approached a local school and asked officers if it was open. Shortly after the murders, the police arrested him on the road as he attempted to enter the school.
During interrogation, Prosper revealed that he had failed an exam required for university admission for students aged 16 to 18. Since then, he had been planning the killings. His goal was to murder 34 people, including his family, two teachers, and himself.
While sentencing him at London’s Newton Crown Court, the judge stated, “Your ambition was notoriety. You wanted to be remembered as the world’s most infamous school shooter of the 21st century. To fulfil this ambition, you brutally murdered your mother, brother, and sister."
On Thursday, London police released a video on Instagram announcing Prosper’s sentencing and urging the public to remember the victims. The post stated, “These three innocent lives were taken by someone they loved and trusted the most."
