'Thala Sir Ko Kyun...': Abusive Trolls Target Rachin Ravindra For Hitting Match-Winning Six Vs MI
Rachin Ravindra hit the winning six against Mumbai Indians following which online trolls began targeting him.

Rachin Ravindra top-scored with an unbeaten half-century as Chennai Super Kings secured a four-wicket win over Mumbai Indians in an IPL 2025 clash at Chepauk on Sunday night. Opening the innings for CSK, Ravindra saw through the chase and sealed the victory with a six off the first delivery of 20th over, bowled by left-arm spinner Mitchell Santner.
CSK legend MS Dhoni was at the non-striker’s end as he watched Ravindra secure a positive start for the franchise.

Soon after, Ravindra became a target of internet trolls on social media as they began venting their ire over the Kiwi allrounder not giving the strike to Dhoni and finishing the match himself.
The comments section of Ravindra’s Instagram post where he’s posing alongside Devon Conway after arriving in Chennai for the IPL 2025 was flooded with messages both praising him for the innings and chiding him for not giving Thala the chance to finish the game.
“Why you didn’t give strike to dhoni," wrote on user.
“Oye THALA KO CHAKKA MARNE KYUN NI DIA," questioned another.
However, there were few comments praising Ravindra for his innings and asking him to ignore the abusive messages.
Meanwhile, Ravindra himself experienced Dhoni’s fandom on Sunday when the former CSK captain walked out to bat late in the chase.
Ravindra admitted he was focused on the game but found it hard to ignore the whistles and the noise that accompanied Dhoni’s arrival to the middle.
“It’s difficult to soak it in when you’re in the moment, because you’re simply focused on winning the game for the team. It’s hard to ignore, though. You hear Dhoni come out with the whistles and the noise. It’s cool to share the crease with him for the first time. He’s a legend of the game, and people love him here. So it’s special," he told reporters after the match.
“All the crowd would have been hoping that I gave him [the strike] and he finished it. But it’s just about getting the job done. He has finished so many games to CSK, and I’m sure there’s plenty more to come," he added.
