Who Is Vipraj Nigam? Uttar Pradesh Leg-Spinner Stuns LSG With His Power-Hitting
The game between the Delhi Capitals and Lucknow Super Giants, which saw several debutants from both teams, became a stage for Vipraj Nigam’s brilliance.

Uttar Pradesh’s 20-year-old legspinner Vipraj Nigam was at the receiving end of some immense thrashing from Nicholas Pooran and Mitchell Marsh in his first match of the Indian Premier League on Monday, so much so that Axar Patel couldn’t hand the ball to him after the 7th over.
Nigam had given away 35 runs in just two overs, although he did pick up Aiden Markram’s wicket and it looked like it would finish off in a nightmarish start for the youngster.

But Nigam ensured that he didn’t let his power-hitting skills go to waste. He came in when Delhi Capitals were at at 113/6 in the 13th over while chasing a whopping 210 and there didn’t seem any chance of the team going past the target.

On the third delivery that Nigam faced, he smacked Ravi Bishnoi for a boundary over backward point. He hit the 42-T20I old Bishnoi for another four and a six in that over, as the 14th over yielded 17 runs.
By the time Nigam was dismissed in the 17th over, he had scored 39 runs off just 15 deliveries and had built a crucial, match-winning 55-run partnership with Ashutosh Sharma, which was vital in getting Delhi back into the chase and eventually over the line.
