Aamir Khan, Darsheel Safary’s Taare Zameen Par BTS Will Take You Down Memory Lane
Aamir Khan is working on Sitaare Zameen Par right now. The film is reportedly based on the Spanish movie Champions.
Aamir Khan’s Taare Zameen Par, which starred Darsheel Safary in the lead role, made waves by reinventing the type of narrative conveyed in Hindi cinema back in 2007. In December 2024, the film completed 17 years and Aamir Khan is dedicatedly working on a second film in the same vein. The production house recently shared a slew of BTS images of Taare Zameen Par while also revealing how Darsheel was shortlisted for the role.
The first image features Aamir Khan behind the camera. In the next photo, he intently looks at the scene. Moving on, other pictures show him with Darsheel Safary as they paint and play together. One image focuses on Darsheel Safary, while another features Tisca Chopra who has a crucial role in the film. The last picture featured Aamir Khan dressed up for the popular song Bum Bum Bole in the film. The caption along with the images also mentioned how Aamir Khan was the one who chose Darshaal for the movie. It read, “Mujhe yaad hai, uska chehra dekh ke, uski aankhein dekh ke, maine kaha, “Yeh bachcha hai! Yeh Ishaan hain"– said Aamir Khan, revisiting Darsheel’s audition.Here’s a glimpse into the whirlwind of creativity, laughter, and chaos that brought the story of Taare Zameen Par to life in 2007."

Darsheel Safary portrayed the role of Ishaan, a kid suffering from dyslexia. Aamir Khan portrayed Ram Shankar Nikumbh, the art teacher at the boarding school Ishaan attended. He sees Ishaan’s creative talent and assists in improving his reading difficulties. Taare Zameen Par received critical acclaim and succeeded at the box office. It received three National Film Awards.The film also stars Tisca Chopra, Tanay Chheda, Vipin Sharma, Sachet Engineer and M.K Raina.
Meanwhile, Aamir Khan is now working on Sitaare Zameen Par. Speaking about the movie, the actor told The Hollywood Reporter India, “Well, it’s a beautiful story. Actually, the easiest way I can describe it is that Taare Zameen Par is a very emotional film which makes you cry. Sitaare Zameen Par makes you laugh, it’s a humorous film. The theme is similar, of people with different abilities, different intelligence, or with different challenges. But, it’s humour as opposed to emotions."
Sitaare Zameen Par, was announced in October 2023 and will reportedly star Aamir, Darsheel, and Genelia Deshmukh in prominent roles. RS Prasanna is directing the film, which is based on the Spanish movie Champions.
