Subscribers can upload images and request their photos to be turned into the iconic animation style of Hayao Miyazaki’s films. To transform your photos into Studio Ghibli style art using ChatGPT’s latest image generation feature, start by logging into your account and select the GPT-4o model. Then upload your desired photo and in the text area, type, “Please convert this image into Studio Ghibli style animation," or similar prompt. After submitting, the AI will process your request and, within moments, it’ll provide a transformed image that looks like the aesthetic characters of Studio Ghibli films.
As of now, the studio has not yet commented on ChatGPT’s new feature. According to NBC News, an OpenAI representative explained that the company’s main aim is to allow users as much freedom as possible to be creative. While OpenAI prevents its tool from mimicking the work of living artists, it does allow users to create images in the style of well known studios. The company also mentioned that they are always learning from how people use the feature and will continue to improve their policies based on feedback.
