'Rise Up, Get Constructive': Sena Reacts To Kunal Kamra's Statement, Alleges He 'Wants To Spoil Law & Order'
Shiv Sena leader Rahool Kanal slammed Kunal Kamra's remarks, stating that freedom of speech does not allow disrespecting leaders. He also accused him of trying to disrupt law and order.

Amid the ongoing row over comedian Kunal Kamra‘s alleged controversial ‘traitor’ jibe against Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, the Shiv Sena on Tuesday said the freedom of speech does not give anyone “the freedom to talk crap about a leader or a respected individual on a constitutional post".
Referring to Kamra’s statement wherein he said he won’t apologise for his remark, Shiv Sena leader Rahool Kanal, in an X post, stated that the comedian should “rise up and get constructive."

“Shiv Sena won’t leave him, we won’t tolerate this insult if he doesn’t apologise, he will come out, where will he hide? Shiv Sena will show its real form," he said.
Kanal was among the 12 Shiv Sena workers arrested on Monday for ransacking the venue at a Mumbai hotel where Kamra jibed at Shinde.
Hours later, a magistrate’s court granted bail to all of them.

As the controversy snowballed, Kamra said he would not apologise for his controversial comments, and questioned the vandalism of the venue in Mumbai.
THE KUNAL KAMRA CONTROVERSY
During his performance at the Habitat Comedy Club at the Unicontinental hotel in Khar area, Kamra had referred to Shinde, who heads the Shiv Sena, as a “traitor" and went on to sing a parody of him.
Enraged over the comments, Shiv Sena workers led by Kanal ransacked the venue of Kamra’s show on Sunday.
The Khar police identified 19 people and named them in the First Information Report (FIR) filed in connection with the incident.
Meanwhile, nearly 20 persons involved in the ransacking of the venue remain unidentified.
As per the police, Kamra used a modified version of a Hindi song from the 1997 movie ‘Dil Toh Pagal Hai‘ to mock Shinde over his 2022 rebellion against then-Chief Minister and Shiv Sena president Uddhav Thackeray, news agency PTI reported.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone 9) Dixit Gedam said two separate offences were registered at the Khar police station — one against Kamra over his comments and the other against vandals, the report stated.
