When people come back from foreign trips, they often talk about the cultural differences they noticed. One of the most common things travellers mention is the warmth and hospitality of the people they meet. Recently, a video shared on social media featured a Canadian traveller’s views on hospitality in India and Pakistan.

In the video, Instagram user Namour, known for his vox pop videos, asks Canadian traveller Nolan Saumure about his opinion on which country offers better hospitality: India or Pakistan.

    “Pakistan, obviously," Saumure replied.

When asked to explain the reason behind his choice, Saumure stated, “You go to India and people just look at you as a walking ATM."

In contrast, he described his experience in Pakistan, saying, “You go to Pakistan and people are just like, ‘Oh come here, sit. Take this free food. Oh, come sleep at my place. You want my daughter? Take my daughter’," Saumure said.

The video was shared a week ago and since then it has accumulated more than four million views. The comment section has also been active where social media users shared their varied reactions to the Canadian traveller’s choice.

One user commented, “Take my daughter, nah that’s too much," while another added, “Take my daughter? This is a mere exaggeration dude."

Someone wondered, “Is he appreciating or roasting? I’m confused."

Meanwhile, a person suggested, “Come to North East India. Best hospitality on the planet."

A viewer jokingly wrote, “Bro hasn’t met me or my Indian family yet. We’ll feed you and your next generations."

Amid the divided opinions, one comment read, “I have been to Islamabad, Lahore, New Delhi, and Varanasi. I enjoyed all. There are nice and shitty people everywhere."

Another user shared their perspective, saying, “As an Indian, he’s true but not entirely. If you go to different parts of India, instead of just Delhi or overcrowded places, you’ll find real hospitality."
