The entire cast and crew of the film, including actor Vicky Kaushal who portrayed Sambhaji Maharaj, are expected to attend the screening.

This comes nearly a month after the Prime Minister gave a huge shout-out to the movie portraying the life, courage, and painful torture meted out to the great Maratha ruler by Aurangzeb.

“It is Maharashtra and Mumbai which has given a new height to Marathi as well as Hindi cinema. And these days, Chhaava is making waves throughout the country (In dino to Chhaava ki dhoom machi hui hai). The introduction of Sambhaji Maharaj’s valour in this form has been made by Shivaji Sawant’s Marathi novel," PM Modi said on February 21 while addressing Akhil Bharatiya Marathi Sahitya Sammelan in the national capital.

In December last year, the Prime Minister, along with his Cabinet colleagues, had attended a special screening of ‘The Sabarmati Report’ in the Parliament. The film sought to depict the Godhra train burning incident in which 59 people were burnt alive on the Sabarmati Express in Gujarat — an incident often regarded as a trigger for the 2002 Gujarat riots.

    Chhaava Success At Box Office

Chhaava has remained unstoppable since its theatrical release on February 14 this year. Even with the big match in IPL 2025 between Chennai Super Kings and Sunrisers Hyderabad on Sunday, people still went to theatres to watch the Vicky Kaushal-starrer in its sixth week.

As per Sacnilk, Chhaava saw a 31% rise in collections on Sunday, earning Rs 4.8 crore and bringing its total in India to Rs 583.35 crore. It had an 18.85% Hindi occupancy that day. Globally, the film has made Rs 780 crore, including Rs 90.50 crore from overseas.
