Rhea Chakraborty, Brother Showik Make FIRST Appearance After CBI Closes Sushant Singh Rajput's Case | Video
Rhea Chakraborty, her brother Showik, and their father appeared publicly after the CBI closed Sushant Singh Rajput's case.

Rhea Chakraborty, brother Showik Chakraborty and their father Lt Col Indrajit Chakraborty made their first public appearance after the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) closed Sushant Singh Rajput’s death case. Back in September 2020, Rhea and Showik were arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) over a drug-related case linked to the late actor’s death.
After years of speculation and close examination, the agency determined that no evidence of foul play was found in Rajput’s tragic passing at the age of 34 in his Mumbai apartment in 2020. After CBI filed closure in the matter, Rhea, Showik and their father visited Siddhivinayak Temple in Mumbai to seek Bappa’s blessings. They appeared in front of the media with folded hands. Several celebs from the film industry have since urged the media to issue a written apology to Rhea and her family for the harassment she faced in 2020. Dia Mirza reacted to CBI’s closure report and said that the media owes the actor an apology. Taking to her Instagram stories, she wrote, “Who in the media will have the grace to put out a written apology to Rhea Chakraborthy and her family? You went on a witch hunt. You caused deep anguish and harrasment just for TRP’s. Apologise. That’s the very least you can do. @rhea chakraborty."
Rhea’s legal counsel, Satish Maneshinde, weighed in on the development, throwing light on the hardships Rhea and her family faced throughout the investigation. He emphasised that despite no wrongdoing, Rhea spent 27 days in Mumbai’s Byculla jail before being granted bail. “I salute her and her family for having kept silent and yet suffered the inhuman treatment they were meted," Maneshinde stated. He shared that Rhea’s family reached out to him through close friends and defense personnel from his Sainik School days. He also revealed that his legal team, along with Rhea’s family, endured relentless threats and harassment but stayed resolute in their fight for justice.
Maneshinde firmly condemned the media frenzy surrounding the case, calling out the false narratives circulated on social media and news platforms. He noted that the lockdown exacerbated misinformation, as people spent more time online with fewer real-world events to focus on.
