Job hunting can be a frustrating process, especially when there is no response from HR. The application process often takes weeks to be processed by employers, while sometimes you might receive a reply within days, depending on the company. However, a job applicant was left scratching his head after his job application was rejected within a minute of applying for a position. Yes, you read that correctly. Recently, the said applicant took to social media to share the incident.

In his Reddit post, the user wrote, “A lot can happen in under a minute. Yes, one minute. I just want to clarify that I checked all the boxes needed: qualification, years of experience, right to work in the USA, location, etc. The rejection email said they filled the position, so my question is why make me take the time of my day to apply for it then?"

He went on to say, “My criticism is: why keep the position open if it’s filled? But I understand your point, as it could be the case you mentioned, especially because you didn’t have the full email details."

“We appreciate your interest in SafetyCulture and our open Customer Success Manager- Portuguese- LATAM Market (Miami, Florida) position. We regret to inform you that the available position has been filled. We therefore cannot give your application further consideration at present. Your resume will be kept on file for future reference should an opening arise. We wish you good luck in your career search. Thank you," he added, quoting the email.

Soon after the post gained traction online, it left many shocked and baffled. Reddit users were quick to chime into the comments section of the post and share their reactions.

“This reminds me of a company where a recruiter was so eager to reject me, they misclicked the reason for rejection, so I received the emails ‘We are sorry you decided to withdraw your application" and ‘We’ve decided to continue with someone else" within the same minute," shared a user.

Another added, “Could it be the ATS that you didn’t pass? I’m not a fan either. I’ve got so many 1-minute rejections too. I’m head down in the “book" trying to understand this ATS thing. I just can’t. Next week that’s it, I will hire Careerio to do all my documents for me. I’m done trying."

“Yup. I applied for a job about a month ago that came with an email that went out of its way to say a real human would read it, and it was immediately, less than a minute later, followed up by a rejection," posted an individual.
