The Chief Minister’s remarks came during an exclusive conversation with News18 India.
“He (Arvind Kejriwal) has ruined Delhi, and now it’s uncertain whether Punjab will be next," she said.
Also commenting on the Sheesh Mahal (referring to the 6, Flag Staff Road residence where Kejriwal lived while he was Chief Minister, and spent Rs 1 lakh on a toilet pot allegedly by using public funds), she called it a “white elephant".
Rekha Gupta also added that neither can they (the AAP) maintain it or sell it.
This comes a day after Gupta, on Tuesday, presented the Budget for the financial year 2025-26 with an outlay of Rs one lakh crore, marking a 31.5 per cent increase from the previous year.
During her Budget speech, the Chief Minister took a jab at the Aam Aadmi Party and said the party built ‘Sheesh Mahal‘, claiming her government in Delhi would build houses for the poor.
Further, Gupta called it a “historic Budget," and emphasised that the era of “corruption and inefficiency" was over, with the government doubling capital expenditure to Rs 28,000 crore.
The Budget focuses on ten key areas, including electricity, roads, water, and connectivity. The Delhi government has allocated Rs 1,000 crore for improved transport links within Delhi-NCR.
